Whirlpool Is Recalling Glass Cooktops

Whirlpool is recalling glass cooktops, including 24”, 30”, and 36” electric radiant models with touch controls and a glass surface, due to safety concerns. Sold under KitchenAid, Whirlpool, and JennAir brands, these recalled cooktops may activate on their own, posing fire and burn risks. Whirlpool is recalling glass cooktops manufactured between December 2016 and July 2019, which were sold across the US, Canada, and multiple other regions.

The decision to recall these cooktops was made after receiving recent reports from customers about the cooktop surface elements activating on their own, which presents a potential fire and burn hazard. This recall affects cooktops manufactured between December 2016 and July 9, 2019. These cooktops were sold in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, the Cayman Islands, St. Maarten, Guatemala, Venezuela, Suriname, and Colombia.
