Wet or Dry Coffee Grounds

Wet or Dry Coffee Grounds

We have received many questions from our customers about what kind of coffee they should use with their coffee machines. Should I use wet or dry coffee grounds?

It is always better to use dry rather than wet grounds, particularly an espresso blend, vs. a wet, oily-scented blend.

Wet Coffee Grounds: If you use wet grounds, your coffee will be too weak because water passes through the coffee grounds faster. Also, the brew unit filter gets clogged up faster with wet grounds, requiring more frequent cleaning and decreasing.

Dry Coffee Grounds: Dry coffee grounds produce rich coffee, and the brew unit does not require frequent cleaning, making it easier to maintain.

If you want your coffee maker to last, always clean and descal the brew unit when prompted. Always use manufacturer-recommended cleaning and descaling solutions and follow the instructions carefully. Ignoring those remainders can result in clogs, poor coffee production, and problems with the brew unit and other components. Coffee maker repairs require professional assistance and are often expensive.
