Whirlpool Recalls Glass Cooktops. The corporation conducting a voluntary recall of 24”, 30”, and 36” electric radiant cooktops that have touch controls with a glass cooktop surface and were sold under the KitchenAid, Whirlpool and JennAir brands. .
This decision was made following recent customer reports of cooktop surface elements turning on by themselves, posing a potential fire and burn hazard. This recall involves cooktops that were manufactured from December 2016 through July 9, 2019. These cooktops were sold in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Cayman Islands, St. Maarten, Guatemala, Venezuela, Suriname and Colombia.
This recall covers the following models: JEC4424HB*, JEC4536HS*, KCES956HSS*, WCE97US6HS*, JEC4430HB*, KCES950HBL*, WCE97US0HB*, JED4430GB*, JEC4430HS*, KCES950HSS*, WCE97US0HS*, JED4430GS*, JEC4536HB*, KCES956HBL*, WCE97US6HB*, JED4536GB*, JED4536GS*.
